Hung Kim Doan
Chair
Hung Kim Doan, Ph.D., is a Small Farms & Specialty Crops Advisor with the University of California Cooperative Extension, serving San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. He holds a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from UC Davis. Hung has extensive experience in plant disease management and sustainable agriculture. He has worked as an Area Cooperative Extension Crops Advisor, an instructor, and a mycologist, and has international experience with USAID. Hung is a member of the American Phytopathological Society and the Mycological Society of America. His work focuses on plant health and urban forestry, aiming to improve green spaces in urban areas through effective disease control and sustainable practices.

Raquel Falco
Vice Chair
Raquel Falco is a native of Michoacan, Mexico, but grew up in Los Angeles and now lives in West Covina. She attained an associate degree in science from Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California. She is an ISA Certified Arborist and has been in the landscaping and arboriculture field for over ten years with experience in commercial landscaping and in municipal service. Her passion is advocating for trees and teaching others about tree appreciation and maintenance to homeowners and tree workers in Spanish. She has served on the Inland Urban Forest Council since 2018. She also serves as Chair for the Spanish Education Committee (Arboleros) with the Western Chapter International Society of Arboriculture. In her free time, she gardens with native plants and vegetables at home.

Diana Ruiz
Treasurer
Diana Ruiz worked in natural resource conservation and education for nearly 50 years and retired as the public affairs manager for the Riverside-Corona Resource Conservation District. She was responsible for the development of the LandUse Learning Center and RCRCD education programs. Diana is accredited in public relations (APR), is certified as a California Environmental Educator (AEOE), is a NAI Certified Interpretive Planner, and is often called upon to develop interpretive signage and publications through her PR consulting business, Conservation Creatives
Diana has served on the Inland Urban Forest Council board for more than 20 years and formerly served for a variety of other organizations including the Riverside Food Systems Alliance, Environmental Education Collaborative (of San Bernardino & Riverside Counties), the Riverside Neighborhood Partnership, and the Western Chapter of the National Association for Interpretation.
Diana has worked as a USDA Soil Conservationist, Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control, and holds a BS in Renewable Natural Resources from UC Davis.

Fred Roth
Board Member
Dr. Fred Roth, Ph.D., is a renowned expert in plant pathology and urban forestry. He earned his doctorate from Cornell University and was a Professor of Plant Science at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, from 1977 to 2009. Since 1985, Dr. Roth has been an arboriculture and urban forestry consultant, specializing in tree management, risk assessment, and tree preservation. He holds certifications as a Certified Arborist and Qualified Tree Risk Assessor from the International Society of Arboriculture, and is a Certified Urban Forester with the Society of American Foresters. Dr. Roth’s contributions to the field have earned him numerous accolades, including the Honorary Life Membership from the Western Chapter International Society of Arboriculture and the Richard W. Harris Award for Excellence in Arboricultural Education.
