*Occupancy is referring to the number of adults in the room. Rooms feature either a king bed or two queen beds.

Travel to and around San Rafael

San Rafael is located in the North Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area and has 2 nearby airports; Oakland and San Francisco.

For those flying into San Francisco, you can catch the Marin Airporter shuttle bus to various Marin County stops. Visit the Marin Airporter for schedules.

Alternatively the Marin Door to Door shuttle is available and operates from both Oakland and San Francisco airports. It will also pick up from the Amtrak station in Emeryville. To find out more visit, Marin Door to Door.

For getting around, there are a number of public transport options. Visit Golden Gate Transit for travel between San Rafael and San Francisco. Golden Gate Transit also operate a ferry service from Larkspur and Sausalito to San Francisco.

Rental vehicles and ride sharing services also service the county.

Things to see and do in Marin

There is no shortage of things to do in Marin or its neighboring counties. Nestled between San Francisco and the Napa Valley, Marin County includes the cities of Tiburon, San Anselmo, San Rafael and Corte Madera.

Nature lovers have many options. Visit Muir Woods National Monument to walk among ancient Coastal Redwoods. You can also visit the Golden Gate Recreation Area and explore a park so rich it supports 19 distinct ecosystems with over 2,000 plant and animal species, including the local favorite for beach lovers, Stinson Beach. Venture out to west Marin to Point Reyes National Seashore where wildlife abounds. Here you just might spot some Elephant Seals or Tule Elk among the rugged terrain or, from Point Reyes Lighthouse, catch a glimpse of a pod of whales.

Marin County is a great place for food and wine. Take your taste buds on a tour of the county; locals venture to Tomales Bay or Marshall for fresh oysters, you can follow the California cheese trail and try some locally produced wines. Wine lovers will be overwhelmed with choices, as you can also visit the nearby Sonoma and Napa wine regions. Weather

Marin County, and the entire San Francisco Bay Area is a region of micro-climates. Often while cool dense fog blankets San Francisco during the summer, residents in Marin are enjoying warm, dry and bright summer days. Temperatures can vary widely, especially between areas close to the coast and those inland, so it’s best to be prepared.

During August, daytime highs are in the 80’s, with lows in the 50’s.
