The State of California invites you to participate in a series of public workshops to provide input on the Draft Concept Paper for the Cap-and-Trade Auction Proceeds – Second Investment Plan and Draft Funding Guidelines for Agencies Administering California Climate Investments (Greenhouse Gas Reduction Funds). The series of public workshops will be held August 3-14, 2015, at seven locations across the State (shown below).  In each location, representatives from the Administration will provide an overview of their early thoughts for investment priorities and will hear public suggestions.  To learn more follow these link:  http://www.arb.ca.gov/investmentplan

House passes The Resilient Federal Forests Act of 2015 (H.R. 2647)

Earlier this month, the House passed The Resilient Federal Forests Act of 2015 (H.R. 2647) sponsored by Rep. Bruce Westerman (R-AR). The bill supports the goal of ending fire borrowing, which takes federal funds from other management priorities to pay for fighting wildfires when budgeted fire-fighting funds are exhausted. However, American Forests and others join Chief Tom Tidwell, the White House, and many others with concerns over most of the bill’s other provisions. Read more
