The City of Sacramento recently updated its tree ordinance. Kevin Hocker, City of Sacramento Urban forest Manager will discuss the ordinance process, considerations and outcomes. Anticipated highlights of this discussion include updated rules for removal of trees, including privately owned heritage trees; higher fines for tree scofflaws; tree care in parks;, pest disease management and much more.

Dr. Wolf’s work is based on the principles of environmental psychology, and studies explore the human dimensions of open space, urban forestry and natural systems. This discussion will address the psycho-social benefits of peoples' experiences of urban nature, and how public perceptions and values can be integrated into planning and management of urban open spaces.
