Home to almost 7.5 million people, this regional council encompasses the major cities and metropolitan areas of San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose, along with smaller urban and rural communities. Covering nine counties; Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma, the region is known for its micro-climates, which is why the area plays host to a diverse population of trees.
The Bay Area Urban Forest Ecosystem Council focuses on education and outreach, planning informative and interesting learn-at-lunch events with our partner organization, the Bay Area Landscape Supervisor’s Forum. This Council also works with local municipalities and groups to help support local Arbor Day and other educational events, and inform the local public of the value of a resilient urban and community forest.
If you have ideas or suggestions for something you would like to see from the Council, please submit your suggestions here!
