Cap-and-Trade Grants and Policy Update
CalFire Urban and Community Forestry has released the Guidelines and the Request for Proposals for their Cap-and-Trade Grant Program. A Webinar is scheduled for September 24th and six workshops are anticipated, although not yet announced. More information can be found at the link below. We will provide more information and updates as we receive new information.
Concept Proposals are due November 13, 2014
Policy Decisions Still Afoot: Some important policy decisions related to the roll-out of the $17.8 million in cap-and-trade auction revenues allocated to the CalFire Urban Forestry Program are still under discussion at the Air Resources Board and CalEPA. Click here for more information.

Great Opportunity for ACTrees’ Members – Youth Tree Stewards Grant!
Thanks to support from CSX, Alliance for Community Trees is providing 2014 Youth Tree Stewards Grants to its members to partner with their local Boys & Girls Club to inspire the next generation of tree stewards. ACTrees members will receive $2,000 to coordinate this grant program. Boys & Girls Club affiliates will receive $1,250 per organization to coordinate this grant program. Trees & Drought Strategies Seminar
October 2nd | San Mateo
Helen Stone from Stone Peaks Services is holding a seminar on Oct. 2 from 1:00 – 2:30 pm in San Mateo for individuals and corporate. This presentation will describe drought and drought effects. Since drought is a regular occurrence in the Southwest and Pacific Coast, and scientist predict increased drought in the coming years this presentation will help us save our trees.
