Nate is an ASCA Registered Consulting Arborist and ISA Board Certified Master Arborist. In 2018, he received a “True Professionals in Arboriculture” award from the International Society of Arboriculture for outstanding contributions to the field. Nate’s professional career includes creating and directing tree-planting and youth employment programs at non-profits for over 14 years, founding and directing a tree consulting company for 10 years, and serving as the first ever City Arborist in Laguna Beach, California. He has drafted winning grant applications that secured $1M grants for multiple municipal clients. He has also served on municipal tree boards and state urban forest councils, including Board Chair of the Indiana Urban Forest Council. His experiences across the public, private, and non-profit sectors will benefit the California Urban Forest Council as it moves forward.
