By the project’s conclusion in December 2012, 25 comprehensive new UFMPs were created. Due to budget cuts, numerous jurisdictions had consolidated departments and were often operating without any organized plan in place. This underscores the critical importance of equipping urban forest managers with the necessary resources and training to steward our urban green spaces effectively.
