Gordon Matassa
Bay Area Representative
Gordon Matassa represents the Bay Area Region as the chair of the Bay Area Urban Forest Ecosystem Council. He is the Urban Forestry Project Coordinator for the City of Oakland where he does everything from helping nonprofits plant trees to developing Oakland’s first urban forest plan. Gordon has a master’s in public administration from San Francisco State University and has over ten years of urban forestry experience working for both cities and nonprofits. He is a Board Certified Master Arborist, Municipal Specialist, Tree Risk Assessment Qualified, a graduate of the Municipal Forestry Institute, and is actively involved in the Western Chapter ISA.
