Funding Delayed – The next round of Cal Fire Urban & Community Forestry Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund dollars, which were included in the Governor’s May revised budget, have been delayed until at least January 2016, due to differing approaches and visions in the legislative houses in Sacramento. Since U&CF is funded through Annual Budget Appropriations versus Continuous Budget Appropriations, Urban Forestry funds are impacted by this annual process, and if there is disagreement among the various legislative bodies in Sacramento, these delays can happen. We will keep you posted as we know more. Please support our advocacy efforts so we can continue to support these opportunities for CA communities.
