USDA: The State of California’s Street Trees
The United Stated Department of Agriculture has released an article called “The State of California’s Street Trees” by Dr. E. Gregory McPherson, Dr. Natalie van Doorn and John de Geode. The article discusses the basic facts about street trees, the structure, value and importance of them and finally the management that needs to be done. To read the full article click here.
UCB: Sudden Oak Death Treatments
UC Berkeley Forest Pathology and Mycology Lab have recently updated their suggestions for treatment of Sudden Oak Death. They provide links for new recommendations for management of SOD and the trees general health, guidelines for phosphonate applications, and a removal guide. ABA: Public Workshop About Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund Programs
The Air Resources Board is holding a public workshop to provide input on the draft Funding Guidelines for agencies administering Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund Programs. The workshop will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015 in Sacramento and also be available through webcast. Click here for more information on times and location. The draft Funding guidelines will be released prior to the workshop and will be available by clicking here.
SGC: Council Meeting and Fund Workshops
California Strategic Growth Council will be having an upcoming meeting on June 30th to award recommendations to the Council. They will also be announcing the “Lessons Learned: Round One,” Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund Workshops to be held in July. It will be used to reflect back on the first year of the program and incorporate new suggestions given b the Council as the program moves forward into year two.
